Christmas Shopping in NYC

Keenan and I both turned 60 in 2010, and to celebrate, our kids gave us money toward a birthday trip. It's taken us all year to decide on where and when to go, but decide we did! New York City and Vermont, for a winter-wonderland adventure! We left 60 degree sunny skies in California this week, and landed at midnight in deep New England cold!

Bundled in silk turtlenecks, long undies and Edie Bower down coats, we took off from our suite at the Salisbury hotel (which I luckily up-graded to after complaining of mold in our first room), and jossled the crowds down 5th Ave. in the splendor of New York Christmas glitter and elegance.

Th Lladro museum shop was spectacular, and I fell in love with the masterful Spanish artists and their magnificent artistry.

Tiffany's had a beautiful entrance, all natural greens lit up like magic sparkling diamonds.

Snowflake necklaces costing thousands of dollars caught every woman's eye, as did
Paloma Picasso's 18 carat gold gem-studded avant-garde designs, which I admit were dazzling. Unfortunately I was too star-struck to get a photo- pity!

I had to drag Keenan into Anthropologie, so he could better understand Brittany's world of fashion and style. He was intrigued, and we agreed they did have the best windows on 5th Ave.

Merry Christmas from NYC!!!
